Abstract: Remote sensing technology is an important means of geological mapping. The efficiency and quality of mapping can be effectively improved through making full use of remote sensing technology. By using remote sensing method, and starting with the lithological and structure interpretation based on the SPOT5 and ETM data of Bayan Hara Mountain, the research obtained information to the greatest degree. The basis of lithology interpretation was carried on the detailed elaboration from four aspects in this research. The visual interpretation key system was established for the research area. And then the formation lithology was delimited through visual interpretation key. The rock section and lithological association were subdivided on each stratum. Various different levels of structural features were identified. New tectonic framework was established, and the tectonic blocks were divided for the research area. A perspective recognition of lithostratigraphic correlation and structure was obtained by painstaking research work. This would provide new materials for regional geological in Bayan Hara Mountain.
